OTIP nurtures a tradition of philanthropy. We are an organization that advances effective and responsive philanthropy through our involvement in community outreach initiatives.
On April 28, TEAM OTIP will take to the streets for the annual Canadian Cancer Society Great Ride 'n' Stride . Taking place across the province, this fundraising event encourages participants to enjoy a day of fun and exercise, while raising funds for research and support services for people living with cancer.
During March and April, OTIP is also proud to support the Canadian Cancer Society through Charity Fridays.
OTIP Annual Charity Golf Classic
The funds raised at the OTIP Charity Golf Classic are distributed each year through the OTIP Community Fund to deserving charities such as the SickKids Foundation and Family and Children's Services. Over the past 23 years, OTIP’s Charity Golf Classic has raised over $1.3 million for these admirable organizations.
OTIP Bursary Program
OTIP offers twelve $1,500 academic bursaries every year. Our bursary program promotes post-secondary education for the children and grandchildren of our insured members by investing in their future.
OTIP Teaching Awards
Sponsored by OTIP and administered by OTF, the OTIP Teaching Awards recognize the vital contribution that teachers make to society. Students, parents and colleagues are invited to nominate a teacher who works to motivate, challenge and inspire, gives selflessly, and puts students' needs first. Awards are given each year to outstanding teachers in the categories of elementary, secondary and beginning teacher.
Ontario Students Against Impaired Driving (OSAID)
OSAID is a youth-driven organization with chapter members in over 60 percent of Ontario's secondary schools. OSAID is focused on educating people of all ages about the dangers of impaired driving due to any cause. As a sponsor, OTIP has a representative sitting on OSAID's Board of Directors, and provides financial support for campaigns.
Send'em Off Smiling
Through their annual back-to-school campaign, Send'em Off Smiling provides school clothing and supplies for children in need. For OTIP employees, a strong connection with the education community has led to overwhelming support of this initiative. In just a few annual campaigns, OTIP has provided backpacks for over 400 children in our community.
United Way
OTIP and its employees support the United Way through an annual fundraising campaign. Over $300,000 has been raised since OTIP began supporting this worthy organization.
