OTIP believes in community from the inside out. We believe that being good is great, but doing good is better. We support the communities in which our members live and work through the following charitable programs.

OTIP Bursary Program

OTIP offers 12 academic bursaries of $1,500 every year. Our bursary program promotes post-secondary education for our insured members and their relatives by investing in their future.

OTIP Teaching Awards

Sponsored by OTIP and administered by OTF, the OTIP Teaching Awards recognize the vital contribution that teachers make to society. Students, parents and colleagues are invited to nominate a teacher who works to motivate, challenge and inspire, gives selflessly, and puts students' needs first. Awards are given each year to outstanding teachers in the categories of elementary, secondary and beginning teacher.

OTIP Charity Golf Classic

The OTIP Charity Golf Classic is all about showing our compassion for families and students who are shadowed by incredible challenges and shining a little light into their darkest time. Each August, OTIP hosts its Charity Golf Classic, with a goal of raising important funds distributed each year through the OTIP Community Fund to deserving charities such as student nutritional programs across Ontario and the SickKids Foundation.

OTIP Community Fund

People in the community

When we work together, there’s nothing we can’t achieve. This philosophy is the foundation of the OTIP Community Fund, an investment initiative funded in part by the OTIP Charity Golf Classic, created to support the charitable programs that matter most to our members.  The OTIP Community Fund contributes to the ongoing success of educators and theirstudents, member health, and social improvement endeavours.

Corporate Donations

At OTIP, we believe in connecting with our communities and supporting causes that are important to our members. Through our Corporate Donations program we are impacting lives by supporting key initiatives that focus on community betterment, health, diversity and environmental awareness.

Employee Giving

Our employees do more than just live and work in the Kitchener- Waterloo area, they care deeply about the health and well-being of the entire community.  As an organization, giving back is a critical part of our DNA. It reflects the generous and caring nature of our employees, and is an important part of our company culture. Through payroll deductions, fundraising events and other activities through the year, our employees support a number of important causes including Breakfast for Learning, Food Bank of Waterloo Region, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Send'em Off Smiling and the United Way.
