Well at Work


As a member of the education community, you do so much for others. You’re a champion, an advocate, and a leader for student success. You're also human - and there are times in each of our lives when we can use help.  

The Well at Work program offers early access to specialized support for teachers experiencing health or wellness challenges that may impact their work and personal life. Administered by Humanworks, this program connects you with experienced professionals (by email, phone and through video calling) who truly understand the unique needs of the education community. You’ll receive personalized strategies for staying healthy at work, navigating a return to work, or accessing any health-related accommodation you may need.

What makes the Well at Work program unique? 

 

Sponsored by OTIP and OECTA, the Well at Work program is administered by Humanworks.

The program is free, voluntary, and focuses on early access to specialized support for OECTA members facing health and wellness challenges that may impact their work and/or personal life. For example, if you are struggling with your physical health or your mental health and you would like help in managing your health-related concerns.

NOTE: You must also be eligible for long term disability (LTD) benefits coverage under your benefits plan to participate in the program. Review your benefits booklet to check your benefits coverage.

 

How do I participate in the program?

 

Complete the referral form and follow the submission instructions on the form.

 

What can I expect after completing the referral?

 

After completing the referral form, you can expect to be contacted by a Humanworks representative for an initial intake call within 48 hours (about 2 business days).

 

Do I need approval from my employer or union to participate?

 

No, you can self-refer by completing the referral form and submitting it directly to Humanworks. Your union representative can also refer you to the program, with your consent.
