OTIP and OTF recognize exceptional Ontario teachers


OTIP and the Ontario Teachers’ Federation (OTF) have recognized three outstanding Ontario teachers with the OTIP Teaching Award for excellence.

On September 24, 2019, the following educators received the OTIP Teaching Award:

  • Emily Alexandra Seiling, Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate & Vocational School, Waterloo – Beginning Teacher Category

  • Natalie Morgan, Brooklin High School, Brooklin – Secondary Teacher Category

  • LeRoi Newbold, Africentric Alternative School, Toronto – Elementary Teacher Category

As well, TFO presented the Prix IDÉLLO to Andréa Pruesse, École élémentaire catholique Samuel-de-Champlain, Orillia.

“OTIP is honoured to recognize these three exceptional leaders in education. We are truly inspired by their commitment to learning, to teaching and to ensuring that each and every student reaches their maximum potential,” said Vic Medland, CEO of OTIP.

OTIP and OTF co-sponsor the OTIP Teaching Awards for excellence in teaching in the publicly funded school system. Three awards are presented: secondary school teacher, elementary school teacher and beginning teacher. Anyone can nominate a teacher in Ontario's publicly funded schools, including public, Catholic, and francophone school boards.
